Fosdem, free software, open educational resources, education, schools and universities
Hello, I would very much like to organize with other interested people and organizations a room about free software, open contents and education, especially schools, colleges and universities. Who would be interested ? (people and organizations, associations) As this year Fosdem will be held online on February 6th & 7th, 2021 we have as many rooms as necessary ;-) The idea is soon to open a call for proposal for presentations and discussions. Key dates would be : * Submission deadline: 26 December 2020 * Announcement of selected talks: 31 December 2020 * Conference dates 6 & 7 February 2021 online Best regards, Nicolas -- *Nicolas Pettiaux, phd* - gsm +32 496 24 55 01 - nicolas@pettiaux.be
Hi Nicolas This would be interesting to Kavita and I as OpenUK is doing a lot in this area. We have the 2020 kids course and camp as well as a kids competition. Some more of our team may also want to be involved. You can see the camp here: https://openuk.uk/openkidscamp/ We have funding for a new course, camp and competition in 2021. We’ll run the camp in July and may also rerun the 2020 one at Easter. We are also looking into translations. We are also working on a GCSE in open for teenagers which we would like to launch in 2021 and being in 2022 and also s Knowledge Module which if approved could be a component of UK wide apprenticeship schemes. We are working on that in the same timescale. Cheers Amanda Amanda Brock CEO, OpenUK amanda.brock@openuk.uk @amandabrockuk +447718516954

Hi! Very good idea! I would be interested in presenting what we're doing at OfiLibre [1] in my University, to promote free software and (mainly) free knowledge and open access. Let me know if you think that fits. I'm CCing PAtxi, who is working with me in OfiLibre. [1] OfiLibre (in Spanish): https://ofilibre.gitlab.io Saludos, Jesus. Hi Nicolas, The Chamilo team would also love to show our LMS in a room dedicated to educational software and resources. We could talk about our project's methodology and show some interesting academic uses in about 30' + 10' Q&A, or 25+15). I'm pinging the BigBlueButton dev team to check if they'd like to contribute.
