Hi Distributions devroom organizers,


About an hour ago, I received an invite by @bot:fosdem2026-staging.ems.host to join a Matrix channel apparently named “[BACKSTAGE] Distributions”, but joining that room fails, at least with my fedora.im Matrix account when I click the link:

I get messages that say: "Something went wrong with your invite. An error (unknown error code) was returned while trying to validate your invite. You could try to pass this information on to the person who invited you.” and when I click try to join anyway “MatrixError: [502] Failed to forward third party invite (https://fedora.ems.host/_matrix/client/v3/join/!CwTctcEhltHmuPnwcM%3Afosdem2026-staging.ems.host)"

Was this intended to work, or is this some artifact of a test (considering the bot name contains “staging”)?
