True, but when looking for alternatives, one should be aware of
problems. With the argument above, being outside would be fully OK, as
well.
Personally, I don't even mind wind or rain, this is why I bring a
weather jacket.

People will always need to set priorities. As you say yourself,
"there is too much happening during the conference, anyway."

A KSP is not all that social. If it were a truly social event, it would
take up even more time. KSPs are extremely mechanic and streamlined and
that's a good thing.
Mixing this with beer, cramped Brussel streets and even more cramped
bars seems like a _very_ bad idea. Especially since I would rather do
actually social things like talking & drinking than looking at passports
of complete strangers.
