FOSDEM 2019 - PHP and Friends devroom CFP
-----------------------------------------

This is the call for participation in the FOSDEM 2019 PHP and Friends
devroom, to be held on February 2, 2019 in Brussels, Belgium.

We are looking for contributions in the form of presentations or tutorials.

FOSDEM PHP and Friends is not limited to just PHP-related talks. There
have been sessions covering a wide range of topics supporting PHP
developers
and DevOps in the past as well, and we encourage you to think outside the
box to come up with your own unique topics.

Possible topics include:

 * Virtualization and environments
 * Javascript
 * Alternate PHP run-times
 * PHP internals
 * Development principles
 * Security
 * Testing (unit, functional, etc.)
 * Building APIs (GraphQL, REST, SOAP, whatever)
 * Continuous Integration
 * Framework-related topics (Symfony, Laravel, Drupal, ...)
 * Professional development
 * PHP7

Submitting talks
----------------
Please submit your proposals at
https://penta.fosdem.org/submission/FOSDEM19 before November 25, 2018.

If you already have a Pentabarf account (for example as a result of
having submitted a proposal in the past), make sure you use it to log in
and submit your proposal. Do not create a new account if you already
have one.

Make sure to include the following in your proposal:

 * title and subtitle of your talk
 * a short abstract (one or two paragraphs) detailing what the talk will
   discuss, and why attendees should attend it.
 * a longer description if you have more details to share.
 * select the "PHP & Friends devroom" track!
 * the duration of your talk (25 or 50 min, including time for Q&A)
 * links to related material/websites/blogs (optional)

Recordings
----------

The FOSDEM organisers hope to be able to live-stream and record all the
talks. The recordings will be published under the same licence as all
FOSDEM content (CC-BY). Only presentations will be recorded, not
informal discussions and whatever happens during breaks between
presentations. By agreeing to present at FOSDEM, you automatically give
permission to be recorded. The organisers will agree to make exceptions
but only for exceptional and well-reasoned cases.
