[FOSDEM] Call for Participation: Government Collaboration devroom at FOSDEM 2025

Hi everyone,

We are pleased to announce the Call for Participation for the first “Government Collaboration” devroom jointly organized by the German Centre for Digital Sovereignty (ZenDiS), the French Interministerial Digital Directorate (DINUM) and the Sovereign Cloud Stack Project (SCS).

This is _the_ devroom to discuss, showcase and elaborate on projects that enable collaboration in the context of sovereign solutions for the public sector, bringing together sovereign workspace initiatives (openDesk and La Suite Numerique) and sovereign cloud technologies and standards. Our goal is to foster connections among those committed to advancing digital sovereignty across Europe (and beyond). 

## Key dates tl;dr:

 - Conference dates 1-2 February, 2025 in person
 - Government Collaboration devroom date: Sunday, February 2nd 2025
 - Submission deadline: December 1st, 2024 - 23:59 UTC.
 - Announcement of selected talks: 15th of December
 - You must be available in person to present your talk

## Call for Submissions

Please submit your proposals on Pretalx, FOSDEM's submissions tool, at
https://pretalx.fosdem.org/fosdem-2025/cfp

*Note:* We will not be accepting proposals submitted outside of Pretalx.
For example, submissions via mailing list.

- Submissions will require a short abstract and speaker description
- Suggested duration for a talk / presentation is a time slot of 25 minutes (20 min presentation,
5 mins for questions)
- Lightning talks can be submitted with a length of 10 minutes


## About the Government Collaboration devroom

### Overview

The Government Collaboration DevRoom is for discussing topics and issues related to full-stack digital sovereignty, from secure and interoperable digital workspaces to sovereign cloud infrastructure, including standards, technologies, and best practices for designing, deploying, and operating independent and resilient digital ecosystems for the public sector. 

A few topic examples to illustrate (a longer list is below):

    • Examples and success stories of digital sovereign cloud computing by the public sector
    • Open-source software for public sector collaboration and data sharing
    • Standardization and certification of digital sovereign solutions and infrastructure
    • Co-development of sovereign digital workspace solutions, such as La Suite Numérique and openDesk, for public sector agencies
    • Automating deployment and operations of such solutions on sovereign infrastructure
    • Federating infrastructure and federating or migrating digital workspace solutions
    • Real-world challenges when running and using sovereign infrastructure or solutions
    • Overcoming common challenges and sharing best practices in digital sovereignty across borders

## Requirements

The conference language is English. All content must relate to Free and
Open-Source Software. By participating in the event, you agree to the
publication of your recordings, slides and other content provided under
the same license as all FOSDEM content (CC-BY). By participating in
FOSDEM you are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct:
