FOSDEM 2025 – Digital Wallets and Verifiable Credentials DevRoom Call for
Participation!

FOSDEM takes place Saturday and Sunday, February 1 and 2, 2025 in Brussels,
Belgium. This year there will be a DevRoom that focuses on the subject of
Digital Wallets and Verifiable Credentials! Our DevRoom is currently
scheduled for Sunday.

We want your help in creating a great series of presentations and
discussions for the FOSDEM participants! (see link at the bottom)

Key dates tl;dr:

    - Conference dates Feb 1-2, 2025,  in-person

    - Our DevRoom is currently scheduled for Sunday Feb 2

    - Submission deadline: Sunday December 1, 2024

    - Announcement of selected talks: Thursday 15th December

    - You must be available in person to present your talk

About the Digital Wallets and Verifiable Credentials DevRoom

Overview

The Digital Wallets and Verifiable Credentials DevRoom is for discussing
digital wallets, verifiable credentials and the ecosystems emerging from
these subjects, especially in the EU. All proposals are welcome, but we
currently have the following four topics we intend to focus on:

   1.

   EU Digital Identity: Concept, Practice, Effort and Outcomes
   2.

   Identity, Operating Systems and OEMs: Perspectives
   3.

   EUDI Large Scale Pilots: What’s New and What’s Next
   4.

   How Governments View Digital Wallets and Credentials


A few topic examples to illustrate the kinds of sessions we are going for:

- More than wallets: why we need an ecosystem to bring this future to life

- An overview of <Country Name>’s digital wallet efforts

- Large Scale Pilot Updates

- How open source wallet projects

- Zero Knowledge Proofs and the future of verifiable credentials

- How Google is contributing to the open source digital wallet ecosystem

- <Open Source Wallet Project>: what you need to know, how to get involved

These are just a few example suggestions, we welcome proposals on any

aspects around these topics.

### How to Propose a Session


   1.

   Go to this link: https://pretalx.fosdem.org/fosdem-2025/cfp
   2.

   Create a login
   3.

   Click “Submit a Proposal”
   4.

   You must select “Digital Wallets and Verifiable Credentials” from the
   Track dropdown
   5.

   Enter the details of your proposal


Format and lengths of submissions:

     - Long (40 minutes, including Q&A)

     - Short (20 minutes, including Q&A)

     - Lightning (5 minutes, no Q&A)

Aside from Presentation also Meetings/Discussions are welcome for topics

where a BoF-style (Birds of Feather) session as appropriate.

First time speakers are, of course, welcome!
