# Music Production @ FOSDEM26
We're very excited to announce the first edition of the Music Production
devroom at the upcoming FOSDEM26! We will have a *half-day* on Sunday
afternoon, the 1st of February 2026.
## Call for Participation
The Music Production devroom is about all things related to the creative
aspects of creating music, from composing, playing and recording it, up to
more in general producing and distributing it.
We welcome submissions on talks about anything that can be used in aid
of creating, performing and recording music. That would include presentations
focused on:
- Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs)
- Virtual instruments
- Notation software
- Loopers and sequencers (including drum machines)
- Audio processing (e.g., virtual amps)
and so on and so forth. Please notice that, to avoid broadening the scope
too much, we'll privilege submissions related to topics more closely
focused on the creative aspects of music, rather than just consuming it
(e.g., media players).
### Key dates
- 1st of December: Submission deadline
- 15th of December: Announcement of selected talks
- 1 February: the Music Production devroom will be on Sunday afternoon
### First-time speaking?
FOSDEM devrooms are a welcoming environment for people who have never
given a talk before. Please feel free to contact the devroom administrators
personally if you would like to ask any questions about it.
## Submission Process
Please submit your proposals at https://fosdem.org/submit before
*December 1st*.
When submitting your proposal, make sure you choose "Music Production"
in the track drop-down menu. Otherwise, your proposal might go unnoticed.
Don't hesitate to include an estimate of the time needed for your talk in
the speaker notes.
**Note that talk length might be adjusted since we only have half a day.**
You'll be notified via mail about whether your talk has been accepted
or rejected.
## Recordings
As previous years, the talks and Q/A sessions will be recorded. The
recordings will be published under the same license as all FOSDEM content
(CC-BY). By agreeing to present at FOSDEM, you automatically give
permission to be recorded.
