This room is dedicated to open source gaming. Talks centre around problems and
solutions associated to open source game development. This includes, but is
not limited to, artwork in open source and problems to be expected when coding
for differing mobile platforms as well as possibly translations for games and
managing a community around an open source game project.. This room is the
continuation of last years collaboration of several well known open source
gaming related projects like "Battle for Wesnoth", "Hedgewars", "ScummVM",
"Unknown Horizons" as well as Worldforge and possibly other gaming related
organizations.

* Why should FOSDEM accept this proposal?
Last years game devroom was a huge success boosting knowledge transfer between
different projects. To my knowledge this is the first steady platform in
Europe where open source game projects gather and actually transfer knowledge.
Besides in 2012 the room was a huge success, completely filled for almost all
presentation and the audience seems to really have enjoyed gaming related
talks. There were several request for a repetition of such a dev room and
comments regarding topics where the knowledge of some projects might be a huge
help for other projects (e.g. Wesnoths knowledge regarding game translation
communities) to also achieve better results.
