I'm afraid that goes for almost every project. We've had only a few presentations where there were more seats than attendants in the Debian devroom ourselves.

Indeed. It was the same for Embedded. During the OpenMoko session there were about 175 persons, of which ca. 100 didn't have a seat. More people were standing outside, but couldn't get in.
