Hi folks, This is the final reminder for the FOSDEM 2021 SDN devroom. The CFP closes at the end of this week. Details on how to submit a proposal are described in the CFP below. A small clarification on the original CFP is that the devroom will take place online on Sunday 7th February. We hope to see you there. The FOSDEM SDN Devroom Team =========================== We are pleased to announce the Call for Participation for the FOSDEM 2021 Software Defined Networking devroom! FOSDEM is a free event for software developers to meet, share ideas and collaborate. - FOSDEM is free to attend. There is no registration. - FOSDEM website: http://www.fosdem.org/ - FOSDEM code of conduct: https://fosdem.org/2021/practical/conduct/ Please forward this CFP to anyone you think may be interested in attending or presenting. New rules / what changes since last year ======================================== For obvious reasons, this year the event will not take place in a physical location but online. - The reference time will be Brussels local lime (CET). - Talks will be pre-recorded in advance, and streamed during the event - Q/A session will be live - A facility will be provided for people watching to chat between themselves - A facility will be provided for people watching to submit questions - Clearly the venue will be more comfortable this year, please don't expect this level of service every year! Important Dates =============== 20th Dec Submission deadline 24th Dec Announcement of selected talks 15th Jan Presentations upload deadline 6th & 7th Feb Conference dates (online) Sun 7th Feb SDN devroom date (online) Talks covering any projects or technologies within the networking domain are welcome, with the only condition being that the project or technology must be free and open source. The SDN devroom team are asking contributors to make a special effort to attend, present, contribute and discuss at this years FOSDEM. Please accept our apologies for the relative lateness of this CFP, there is a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes to make this years FOSDEM happen. Topics: ======= If it moves network packets, or interacts with, or supervises entities that moves network packets, it is likely a topic the devroom is interested in. This year the devroom topics will include the following fields. Domain IoT, Cloud, Enterprise, Service Provider, Wireless and Cellular. Physical low power, mesh, high throughput, low latency, optical, wireless Infrastructure switching, routing, load balancing, translation, authentic, crypto, detection, intercept Tooling libraries, frameworks, tracing, debugging, domain specific languages and extensions. Telemetry counters & statistics, interference, analysis, automation. Validation performance, latency, packet manipulation & fuzzing, traffic generators. Orchestration management, network-layer plugins and controllers. Suggested Projects: =================== A /non-exhaustive/ representative list of the projects and topics we would love to see on the schedule are: Frameworks DPDK, eBPF, XDP Switching Snabb, OpenvSwitch, Tungsten Fabric, Lagopus, FastClick Stacks Linux, *BSD, FD.io, F-Stack, DMM, mTCP, Seastar, YAStack Controllers Istio/Envoy, Network Service Mesh, Neutron, CNI, Canal, ODL, ONOS, Plumgrid, OVN, Contrail Edge Akraino, Openness Routing FRRouting, BIRD, Netopeer, Go-BGP Management ONAP, Open-O, ManageIQ, Juju, OpenBaton, Tacker, OSM, Ganglia, NetSNMP, PNDA.io Security Suricata, Snort, Zeek Tooling VSPerf, CSIT, TRex, Moongen, Scapy, Warp17 Talks should be aimed at a technical audience, but should not assume that attendees are already familiar with your project or how it solves a given problem. Talk proposals may cover very specific solutions to a problem, or may be a higher level project overview for lesser known projects. You do not need to create a new Pentabarf account if you already have one from a past year. https://penta.fosdem.org/submission/FOSDEM21 Please select the "Software Defined Networking" as the *track* and ensure you include the following information when submitting a proposal: Section Field Notes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Person First/Last/Public Name Your name.
