Sponsoring Fosdem 2008
Dear, we would like to sponsor FOSDEM in 2008, how can we make this happen? Greetings, Jasper. -- Jasper Nuyens Managing Director, Linux Belgium http://www.linuxbe.com Phone: +32 (0)2 747 47 01 Fax: +32 (0)2 747 47 10 GSM: +32 (0)478 978967
Hi List, I'm sorry to bother you again, but we still have had no reply whatsoever to our question to sponsor FOSDEM 2008. We would like to know the how much and where to transfer our money to :) Having different sponsoring options would be nice as well, but basically we're looking for a small 'booth' space and possibly some brand recognition on the website. Well then, I 'll take some freedom here, hopefully without being offence. I am not from the organisation, however I offered the organization, to bring network equipment and help out with te network. This in favour of some sponsoring to the foundation wifisoft.org that owns and maintains the hardware/software. I be happy to bring our stuff, but I would be unfair to leave us with te costs. see wifisoft.org en opencommunitycamp.org kind regards Marten Vijn, chairman of the WiFiSoft.org Foundation
Greetings, Jasper.

Thank you for the offers These messages have been forwarded to the sponsoring-responsible. Concerning network-hardware: We are currently investigating an interesting way to buy very cheap quality networking-hardware. That's probably the reason why you didn't get a confirmation about lending material. Thanks again for the offer. We will contact you certainly if we need this material. Concerning a booth: To keep the high-technical level of the event and due to the high-amount of requests for booths we prefer not to give sponsors a commercial/promotional booth-space. The visitors should only find booths concerning opensource projects. If you want to support the organisation donations are always welcome. We have a huge list of 'return-for-donators' to thank you. oke we 'll see what happens, thanks Marten
Hi Christophe, Thank you for the clarification. On the Fosdem main page I find sponsorship by O'Reilly, Linux magazine and Belgium Network Solutions. We are interested to know how we can be mentioned in a similar fashion. If direct money sponsoring is less appreciated, we can also provide terrabytes of bandwidth, dedicated servers, laptops, projectors, a 3m high self-inflatable penguin, beer or pretty much anything (well...) We would like to attract people to register at our website with their skillset or resume for our Linux Recruitement Services. We provide such a service for companies searching employees for Linux-only jobs. If we could put a computer on which people can register with their skills, it would match our requirements, so booth-space is not a requirement. Aside from that, we also do general lobbying for Linux in government and political organisations, lead passing to help the different Linux providers in their area of specialisation, organise Linux courses and offer Linux support where that of other providers comes short. Hi Jasper, Could you possibly clarify who is the 'we' you're talking about? I'm afraid the linuxbe.com 'about' page is rather short :) Serge Serge van Ginderachter http://www.vanginderachter.be/
