Hi, I usually buy a prepaid SIM card when I am traveling abroad. Does anybody have recommendations which one to take? It would be great if I could buy it at the airport, but that is optional. I would mostly use the it for internet access. I would probably send a text message here and there. It would be nice to be able to call somebody local, but I almost never use that. Thanks, Željko

I don't know if you can buy it from a store, but Mobile Vikings is cheap. https://mobilevikings.com/bel/en/

I find the wikia prepaidwithdata pages for most countries pretty good. Belgium looks well covered:- http://prepaidwithdata.wikia.com/wiki/Belgium

Would also recommend Mobile Viking, though you should be aware they do not cover all places in Belgium. You can order a SIM on-line. -- "Life on Earth may be expensive, but it comes with a free ride around the Sun."

Thanks, but I will be there just for the weekend, I am not sure if the SIM will arrive in time. Željko

Last year we bought prepaid cards from "base" right at the airport. The store is in the shopping area when leaving baggage claim and going to train, bus, taxi. If I remember correctly it was ~15 EUR and the card did work in Openmoko and other phones.
Base also have its Plan C for heavy users wich is 15 euro but then comes with 15 euro cap to each modes : calls, SMS and data. If you use more then this amount, it end up being unlimited till end of month. Le 30 janv. 2013 14:20, "Dr. H. Nikolaus Schaller" <hns@computer.org> a écrit :

Note that the manual is only in French and Dutch, so it took me a bit (and my rusty French skills) to realize the opening 'unlock SIM' screen you get is from Base, and requires a 1111 (and was not a failure on my part to unlock my phone). Fifteen Euros, then I converted ten to data by texting SAFE10 to 1913 (the friendly gentleman explains that), and it kept us from looping Gare Centraal more than three times before we went the right way towards the hotel :-/.
