Subject of email: emphasize speaking and volunteering too, e.g "FOSDEM 2016, speakers and volunteers neeeded" Body of email: Intro: describe FOSDEM To discuss, join Free-RTC list https://lists.fsfe.org/mailman/listinfo/free-rtc Opportunities for speaking about RTC, mention talks are recorded and streamed - main track deadline 30 October - RTC devroom - other devrooms may be relevant - Lightning talks Volunteers needed for Real time lounge, video in devroom, (dinner logistics?), other support, forwarding this email, blogging about FOSDEM, link to the planet sites, etc Brief comment/advice to people who never applied to speak before, e.g. FOSDEM is very welcoming, perfect place to start How speakers should apply (email to free-rtc-devroom@lists.fosdem.org or pentabarf?) What to include in speaker proposal: - name and company or project - title - subject - purpose of talk - keywords - abstract (can use HTML) - blog address (feed tagged for RTC, XMPP, SIP, WebRTC, whatever) - pentabarf login name - other talk proposals submitted to main track, devrooms or lightning talks? Selection process: - we will be looking for relevance to the conference theme, which is development, talks aimed at developers - we will try to fit as many people as possible? - if there are significantly more proposals than slots, we will try to select the range of talks that offers the most diversity and reduces duplication? Duration of talks in devroom Deadline Dinner (don't promise anything yet, ask if people can sponsor) Related events: - XSF / XMPP summit - RTC summit at end of XSF summit?
