We are thrilled to announce that the Call for Proposals (CfP) for the Identity
and Access Management (IAM) Devroom at FOSDEM 2026

   - Devroom day: Sunday, February 1st, 2026
   - Location: ULB in Brussels, Belgium (in-person presentations only)
   - Submission deadline: Sunday, November 30th, 2025

Topics & themes

This is the Identity and Access Management Devroom, and we want to hear how
you're solving the tough challenges in FOSS identity. We welcome any
relevant submission! For inspiration, check out the schedules from 2018

Our suggested topics for 2026 include:

      The path to ubiquitous Passwordless: Passkeys, FIDO2, OAuth2, and PIV
      in practice.

      Beyond Centralization: Decentralized Identity (DIDs) and Verifiable
      Credentials (VCs).
      -

      Integrating federated and social identities at the OS level.
      -

   Core infrastructure & security:

      Preparing for Y2Q: Implementing quantum-resistant cryptography (QRC).
      -

      DNS and Identity: Securing domains for identity services.
      -

      Identity in the Software Supply Chain (e.g., Sigstore).

   User experience & integration:

      Integrating modern auth in desktop environments (GNOME, KDE) and
      admin tools.

      Improving the UX for multi-factor authentication.
      -

   Project showcases & case studies:

      FOSS IAM offerings, migration stories, and integration with
      proprietary solutions.

      Real-world IAM/IdM deployment reports and war stories.

...and anything else you're passionate about! Show us how your project is
changing the game. If you think it's interesting, submit it!
Submission details

   - Format: we are looking for 25-minute talks (which includes 20 minutes
   for your presentation + 5 minutes for Q&A).
   - Deadline: November 30, 2025. The final schedule will be announced by
   December 15, 2025.
   - System: Please submit your proposals via the FOSDEM Pretalx system:

Instructions:

   - Log in to Pretalx (or create a new account; 2025 accounts should
   work!).
   - Create a new proposal with your title, abstract, and speaker info.
   - Make sure to select the "Identity and Access Management devroom" as
   your event track.
