One of the major interest in the KSP is that people from all around the globe can attend and meet together in person. You totally remove this benefit if you make it happen on Saturday night : people with children, people from abroad, people who have activities on Saturday evening won't be able to attend.
That's the best way to kill the event.
I'd suggest the organizers note that participants should dress warmly and bring gloves.
