Request for permission to distribute flyers for the Association of Free Software and Open Source of Kosovo/Kosova
I am writing to you for the newly formed Association of Free Software and Open Source of Kosovo/Kosova "Asociacioni per Softver te Lire dhe të Hapur (ASLH)" You can read and edit the charter here: http://code.google.com/p/sfck/wiki/CHARTER We invite all collaborators from all countries and nations to help. We are organizing a series of new conferences on August/September and would like to invite more people to come, for this purpose we would like to distribute this flyer there, have people print it and hand it out: http://groups.google.com/group/free-software-conference/web/flyer There is the svg/inkscape source code, if you want to improve it. We would have some people to go there and distribute the flyers, if it is ok? thanks, mike

You're asking whether it is OK to distribute flyers about the ASLH at FOSDEM 2009 ? If that's the question, then the answer is no. We don't permit the distribution of flyers, for several reasons: - - there has been abuse by businesses who sent people to distribute flyers at the conference (we even had to ask security to throw them out), and all staff members are really busy during the whole event, so we don't have the time to sort out what's OK and what's not; - - it is simply not feasible for practical reasons either: there is just way too much crowd going through the hallways, so having people stuck in the middle distributing flyers won't work and will congest even more What you can do is print out those flyers and ask stands whether they're OK with having your flyers there, for people to pick up when passing by. But please don't send people to distribute flyers in the hallways, we won't allow that (for the reasons above). cheers - -- -o) Pascal Bleser <loki@fosdem.org> http://www.fosdem.org /\\ FOSDEM 2009 :: 7 + 8 February 2009 in Brussels _\_v Free and Opensource Software Developers European Meeting -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFJfN8Qr3NMWliFcXcRAkAbAJ9OpKE92Zxm1d+Isz9n0LkhPNSn3QCfQfAv AANUYyTAxTCjxVX6eWhibR4= =DdJ8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
Maybe an addition: If you have posters, you can hang *a few* of them on the walls (only on the brown paper). On 1/25/09 10:52 PM, Pascal Bleser wrote:

Thanks for your advice and comments, The posters are just a4. I will talk to the people who are coming. We don't need someone dress up in a yellow jumpsuit to bother everyone going in or out. it is fine to hang some up on the pinboard or where flyers are generally put. But the idea of contacting the people who run the tables is a good one. maybe some of them would like to also setup tables at our conference. thanks, mike
