FOSDEM will probably take place the 21st and 22nd February 2009
FOSDEM 2009 ... will probably take place the 21st and 22nd February 2009 in Brussels, Belgium. We are still struggling with some rooms that need to be freed for the conference. We will keep you updated with the confirmation once we have it. -- Christophe Vandeplas cvandeplas@fosdem.org http://www.fosdem.org
Hi How are we supposed to propose dev rooms, speakers, etc? I find the process a little confusing, this time around..... thanks Louis On 2008-10-12, at 09:46 , Christophe Vandeplas wrote:

A call for devrooms will be sent out Real Soon Now[tm]. On that front, we're on the same timeline as last year. Speakers can still be suggested using the form on the website. - Philip -- Philip Paeps Please don't Cc me, I am philip@fosdem.org subscribed to the list. * typo giggles at overheard on the tube <typo> 2. Thanks; I suggested for now one speaker--ego--but will get others in OOo to suggest more. Our devroom worked great last year--so much so that Pascal said he thought it important that OpenOffice.org be given more space this next time. I am concerned, then, that we will encounter what we did last time, an overflow room and insufficient time to address the really very strong interest in OpenOffice.org development. Pretty popular application, you know. :-)

Super - thanks.

All the devrooms were cramped. It's a problem we have had for a number of years. We will move devrooms into a further away building this year, which has larger rooms but is a bitch to signpost and to network. We'll see how that goes.
Pretty popular application, you know. :-)
For reasons I will never understand. - Philip -- Philip Paeps Please don't Cc me, I am philip@fosdem.org subscribed to the list. Celibacy is not hereditary.

Due to unforeseen problems with the room reservations, we can already confirm that FOSDEM will _NOT_ take place on the 21st and 22nd of February. Once we have certainty about the dates, we will post more information on the usual channels. Keep an eye on the website and this mailinglist. -- Gerry Demaret http://www.fosdem.org/
Hello Gerry, Thanks for keeping us informed. I maintain a calendar of Open Source events: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/Upcoming+Events It's not comprehensive but there are already two events planned, which will no longer collide with FOSDEM. 20-22 Feb. 2009 RecentChangesCamp 2009 (RCC), Portland, USA 20-22 Feb. 2009 Southern California Linux Expo, Southern California, USA Now, I hope FOSDEM will not be at the same time as: 4-6 March 2009 : Conference PHP Quebec, Montréal, Canada Best regards, M ;-) -- Marc Laporte http://MarcLaporte.com http://TikiWiki.org/MarcLaporte On Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 1:51 PM, Gerry Demaret <gdemaret@fosdem.org> wrote:

It's _not_ 21/22 February. We are waiting for written confirmation on the actual dates. We will announce them as soon as possible. - Philip -- Philip Paeps Please don't Cc me, I am philip@fosdem.org subscribed to the list. <nuked> according to the picture, tim should also be a bot of some form * Tim|FreeBSD beeps and whirs quietly
