Devroom submission FOSDME 2018
by Josef Söntgen 18 Sep '17

Hello everybody, the FOSDEM organizers released the CfP [1] and the submission deadline for devroom proposals [2] is on the 20th. September. As we did in the past, I would like to pass on the torch of the devroom organizer to the next interested party of the microkernel community. So, please get in touch (preferably on this mailing list) if you want to take over. GSoC payment received
by Martin Decky 15 Sep '17

Dear all, I confirm that the Microkernel Devroom confederation has just received the GSoC organization payment of 4200 USD (i.e. 500 USD for each of our students, 2200 USD for the Mentor Summit [although we don't send any delegate] and 500 USD as a student travel stipend to a conference). I suggest that we split up the entire amount into three equal shares (1400 USD) and let the representatives of the three projects (Redox, GNU Hurd, MINIX 3) decide individually what to do with the share. If you have other suggestions what to do with the entire amount and/or if you have decided what to do with your share, let us discuss it here. [I acknowledge that there have already been some suggestions. But to avoid the problem of silent assumptions, let us start from scratch.] M.D.
