OpenSource is a business similar to many any other businesses on this
It's just that many volunteers think they change the world by doing work for
free. The positive aspect of this is, that many open source developers learn
how to work and for example, write good code / develop well, which helps
them again in their day-to-day job. You can even see OpenSource Software
projects as the biggest sandbox for developers ever. Just from the human
resource point of view, i think Novell does very well to give something back
to the community by sponsoring an open source event : they benefit not only
by using software, but also from the human resources. And honestly, i think
this discussion is really childish.
