Yeah, all of you have done an outstanding job, thx. But please check weather conditions and temperature next year BEFORE planning to do the keysigningparty outdoors again *cough* ;) Take care, Karlheinz -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ /~ Q///~ pub 1024D/AAE6022E 2004-12-07 (;#) FPR 7A39 2F67 8CAE 262E 64FD 8A10 2F95 1508 AAE6 022E /_\ uid Karlheinz Geyer (TUD) <geyerk.fv.tu@nds.tu-darmstadt.de> I I uid Karlheinz Geyer (RBOS) <karlheinz.geyer@lhsystems.com> ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, I think the keysigning event (I am always hesitant to call it a party, perhaps I usually attend the wrong kind of party?) has simply become too large to organize indoors. It would be a bit silly to sacrifice a main track talk in Janson or Chavanne to make room for the keysigning. :-) - Philip -- Philip Paeps Please don't Cc me, I am philip@fosdem.org subscribed to the list. All general statements are false. (Think about it.)

And we only had about a 50% turnout, from my count! I think next year, I'll just remember to bring gloves: all I need to be able to do is hold a passport and make a checkmark. (But I _am_ going to make a little booklet of the printout, like I saw someone else do...) And, yes, volunteers, organizers and participants were all terrific. I'll definitely be back next year. I figure if there are 300 kinds of beers available in Belgium, I've still got about 280 to go....

sure.. no need to sacrifice a room for any of the (big) talks. but why does the key signing party have to be parallel to any of the talks at all? how about making the key signing party a part of the saturday evening event?! "saturday evening at 21h - the key signing party! followed by some free beer (as in "free beer")" :-) Sven

This requires a place for 150 - 200 people. Inside, not outside. And more important: this would split the events for the different groups. I don't like this idea. Bye -- Andreas 'ads' Scherbaum German PostgreSQL User Group European PostgreSQL User Group - Board of Directors

no - while the KSP is usually on daytime keeping people away from talks+workshops, the KSP on saturday evening would happen at the "free beer event".
I don't like this idea.
but you are not opposed to beer events, now, are you? ;-) Sven
