[Security-devroom] Restaurant on saturday's evening
by Aris Adamantiadis 02 Feb '11

02 Feb '11

All, For the sake of simplicity, I registered an online poll for the restaurant. It's available through this link : http://doodle.com/swifwskc2g8gibda Please register yourself on it, even if you already replied positively on the ML. That way I'm sure I forgot nobody. I'd prefer to have an accurate estimation of the number of participants asap, preferably this week. Practical details: no prepayment necessary, please just be there if you registered. Timing : 7PM ? 8PM ? Up to you. Please have change. The budget is 25-30€. See you at fosdem ! Aris

[Security-devroom] T-shirts with OpenSC for FOSDEM
by Martin Paljak 31 Jan '11

31 Jan '11

Hello, I'll make a T-shirt for FOSDEM. Nothing fancy, just text. "Protect Your Privates" (front) "OpenSC ... use a smart card!" (back) I could produce and bring a few extra matching copies if there's interest. Drop me a line before Wednesday with your size if you are interested, the cost of the shirt will be around 10..15€ (depending on the shirt quality and print size, will know for sure on Wednesday after visiting the shop) -- @MartinPaljak.net +3725156495

Hello, I consider to make video recordings of the security talks, because a buddy won't be able to attend. Does anyone object to have his/her talk recorded? Thanks and Regards, Kai

[Security-devroom] Schedule and general organisation
by Aris Adamantiadis 28 Jan '11

28 Jan '11

Hello, There's been a couple of days since the 10/1 deadline passed by, and I think most of the people who proposed something would like to know the schedule, if they are in, so they can organize themselves and work on their presentation. Also, any idea which room has been allocated for security-devroom ? On an other topic, I saw that Martin was still looking for somebody who's local to help with the evening's arrangements. I propose myself to do that. With kind regards, Aris

[Security-devroom] Talk Proposal: SSL/TLS with CyaSSL
by Chris Conlon 13 Jan '11

13 Jan '11

Hi! We apologize for being late in submitting a proposal to talk in the security/hardware crypto devroom at FOSDEM. We are currently scheduled to give one of the lightning talks (CyaSSL) and would love the chance to give a quick talk in the security/hardware crypto devroom about CyaSSL and how it can be used to secure embedded devices. We are currently a participant in the devroom (yaSSL). If you could manage to squeeze us in, we would be interested in speaking for somewhere around 10-15 minutes. If you have room in the schedule, Larry Stefonic would be the speaker. Please let us know where the schedule stands and your thoughts. Thanks, Chris Conlon www.yassl.com chris(a)yassl.com +1 406 209 0601

[Security-devroom] Re: talk scheduled twice: BOFH meets SystemTap

I also submitted this talk to the security devroom although it is unclear to me whether it has been definitely accepted there at this point: https://www.opensc-project.org/opensc/wiki/FOSDEM2011 http://lists.fosdem.org/pipermail/security-devroom/2010-December/000011.html I am happy to drop one of the two talks as to free up a slot for someone else (although I would also appreciate if my talk was still mentionned in the schedule of both rooms, with redirection as appropriate). Which of the security devroom or the lightning talks room needs a slot back? :)

[Security-devroom] Introduction talk and training
by Jean-Michel Pouré - GOOZE 05 Jan '11

05 Jan '11

Hello, Could we discuss the introduction talk at FOSDEM. These last two months, I did two presentations at Debian day and JM2L. Based on these presentations, it seems that we could: * Start with a 15 minutes slides presenting the various crypto frameworks at OS level + application level. The last topic on CSP rang the bell to me and this is really hell of a jungle. This presentation could be called 'Hell of a jungle' and be funny. Martin, maybe you could do it or I can take care of it. * Make a 45 minutes training, showing and distributing some hardware. People need to touch and manipulate the hardware and see it with their own eyes. I propose to make that tutorial. I can bring more than 50 readers and smartcards, OTPs and make a detailed training. So to make it clear, my proposal would be to start with 15 minutes of 'Hell of a Jungle' and 45 minutes of training/hardware demo. I am aware that FOSDEM is a developer show, but even developers would probably like to see the hardware. People need to know what kind of readers are available (internal, external, etc ...) and understand how to insert cards, click on buttons. This needs to be simple.
