---- Apologies for the cross posting ----- Call for Participation This is to announce the next Graph Processing DevRoom to be co-located with in the FOSDEM 2012. The meetup will take place next 5 of February 2012, from 9AM until 5PM, room AW1.125, more information will be available when we’ll have the final schedule. Since 2-3 years graph processing systems are gaining an emerging impact for processing complex semi-structured and interrelated data sets. Graph databases like Neo4j, Semantic Web and Linked Open Data approaches like the DBPedia project, and large-scale graph processing like Apache Hama encourage each one of us to think about our problems in graph like structures. Thanks to the high quality open source implementations and outstanding community support, this movement is currently wining a lot of momentum within different developer communities. Related projects and topics We encourage you to submit talks regarding the next topics: Graph Representations and Storage Distributed Graph Processing Graph Query Languages and user-friendly APIs Semantic Graphs Graph Mining Visualization Benchmarking Application of graphs and industry experience Experiences on GIS, multimedia databases, BMP,... … Contributions expected from: Neo4j OrientDB HyperGraphDB Tinkerpop Blueprints GoldenOrb Apache Hama Apache Mahout Apache Giraph … This list is not closed, related topics are welcome. Should be noticed we look for high quality, technical submissions, ranging for principles to practice. Submissions should be bases on free software solutions. Important dates (all GMT+1): Submission deadline: 23-12-2011 Notification of accepted speakers: 28-12-2011 Publication of the final schedule: 4-01-2012 Meetup: 5 of February 2012, Brussels, Belgium. Call for stands, devroom talks and lightning talks
by Mattias 'Tias' Guns 16 Nov '11

16 Nov '11

Dear Hackers, We hereby invite any and all open source projects to participate in FOSDEM 2012 by manning a stand for the weekend, by giving a talk in a devroom or by giving a 15 minute talk in our lightning talk room. See http://fosdem.org/2012/call-for-participation on how to submit proposals. * Manning a stand We offer open source projects a place for a stand in the hallways. Stands can be used to share information, demo software, sell merchandising, give away goodies and so forth. Stands allow projects to present themselves to the visitors in a more personal fashion. See http://fosdem.org/2012/call-for-stands for more details * Talking in a devroom We will be hosting 25 (!) different devrooms, covering a broader spectrum of the open source landscape than any year before. The accepted devrooms are: Ada -- BSD licensed operating systems -- Configuration and Systems Management -- Cross Desktop -- Distribution Miniconf -- Embedded -- Free Java -- Graph Processing -- Hardware Security and Cryptography -- JBoss.org -- Legal Issues -- LibreOffice -- Mono -- Mozilla -- Multiserver -- microkernel-based operating systems -- MySQL and Friends -- Open Mobile Linux -- Open Source Game Development -- Open Source Telephony -- Open Source Virtualization and Cloud -- Perl -- PostgreSQL -- Smalltalk -- World of GNUstep -- X.org and OpenICC See http://fosdem.org/2012/call-for-participation for the list of announcements or contact devrooms(a)fosdem.org for a contact address. * Lightning talks We have a special lightning talk room for all remaining open source projects that do not fit in any of the devrooms. Lightning talks are short 15 minute focussed talks in which one person gets to present the project or an aspect of it. See http://fosdem.org/2012/call-for-lightningtalks for more details. FOSDEM is organized by and for the community, non-commercial and highly developer-oriented. Its goal is to provide Free and Open Source developers a place to meet. Now is the time to become part of it. The FOSDEM organizers.

Hi Emil They are in the process of setting up their mailing-lists to coordinate, either at lists.fosdem.org or on their own infrastructure. But we can always put you in touch, just ask us which devroom you'd like to get in touch with and we will give you the email address privately. We obviously prefer not to list all those emails publicly :) cheers -- Pascal Bleser <loki(a)fosdem.org> http://fosdem.org/ FOSDEM 2012 ::: 4 + 5 February 2012 in Brussels, Belgium Free and Opensource Software Developers European Meeting
