website - List of lightning talks online
by Christophe Vandeplas 29 Jan '07

29 Jan '07

Some time ago we made a Call-For-Lightning Talks. There was a massive response and we had to refuse some people because of the lack of time. We have the pleasure of offering you 28 speakers with their interesting subject. Don't hesitate to click on the title of the talk or speaker as it contains a short description and photo. http://fosdem.org/2007/schedule/tracks/lightningtalks -- Christophe Vandeplas cvandeplas(a)fosdem.org http://www.fosdem.org

beer, donations and registration
by Razvan Cojocaru 29 Jan '07

29 Jan '07

Hello. I have some questions about this year's FOSDEM: 1. Will there be some kind of donations booth at FOSDEM, or is a bank account transfer the only way to do it? 2. Will there be a time when one can register electronically? I'm thinking that perhaps having such a list would at least be helpful in allowing people with similar interests to meet there, e.g. X from project/company X1 would enjoy finding out more about work from project/company Y1. Just a though... 3. Is the beer event open for everyone? Does one simply pop up there and ask the staff about the FOSDEM party? Thanks. -- Razvan Cojocaru KeyID: 1024D/04CA34DE

fw:Lynnette AUNI - day2
by Lynnette Baker 25 Jan '07

25 Jan '07

Day two Nice soar. The Beauty of the penny stocck arena is that shares appreciate so fast! A bit of inside information and returns of 1000% are not unheard of. With lucrative settlement in China American Unity Investments (AUNI) is entirely where you want to be. I am buying now. Are you ? What will be next ? Today it will show us ... what it can do on friday. It has more growth implicit then i even intended . And next will be very HOT! times. Todays prognosis:+34% +0.10 (0.39) at least and +41% +0.12(0.41) at most AUNI will easily reach $1.00 mark once results are announced! 6B786A456E7933746972746C7469727178786B786A3377 albatani

flyer/poster 2007
by Adriaan Peeters 24 Jan '07

24 Jan '07

Hi, Since nearly all speakers for the Fosdem main tracks are known, shouldn't we consider creating a flyer/poster like the previous years? In 2002 Kangaroot was so kind to sponsor printed versions, but a pdf/ps file to print out would suffice. Adriaan

Cheap lodgings
by Bram Neijt 21 Jan '07

21 Jan '07

Dear list members, Me and a friend of mine (Wybo Wiersma) are looking for cheap lodging for the weekend of Fosdem. We are both students, so that is the reason to keep it cheap. We tried to find information on youth hostels and the kind, but weren't able find anything close. So, we are still looking and I was wondering if there are any tips out there. We are looking for a place to spend the whole weekend and have both been accepted for lightning talks on sunday. Any and all replies are welcome. Thanking all of you in advance, A. Tracks, rooms and talks still available at FOSDEM - update needed?
by Yannick Warnier 16 Jan '07

16 Jan '07

Hello, I'd like to know if the tracks, rooms and talks scheduled on www.fosdem.org are up-to-date or if there is any more recent info about this. I would like to request a lightning talk to present Dolibarr, a CRM/ERP web-based application for European SMEs, and a dev-room for Dokeos, a web-based e-learning management system (if possible on sunday early afternoon). None of them is 100% sure yet, but I'd like to know the availability of these rooms. I'm 100% fluent in english/french, so use what's easier for you when replying. Thanks, Yannick Warnier

Dear FOSDEM visitor, On the FOSDEM website, you can now take a look at a preliminary talks schedule. Only two slots in the 'web' track still need to be confirmed. http://fosdem.org/2007/schedule/days The speakers and topics that have been recently added are Keith Packard (X.org), Pieter Hintjens (FFII, software patents), Pete Herzog (OSSTMM) and Kern Sibbald (Bacula). Also, kernel maintainer Andrew Morton will be present this year. If you're around the night before FOSDEM, make sure you don't miss the traditional FOSDEM beer event: http://fosdem.org/2007/beerevent regards Floris PS We try to relay the news on our website to this mailing list as much as possible. However, the fastest updates you will get trough our website or the accompanying RSS feed at http://fosdem.org/2007/rss.xml -- Floris Lambrechts florisla(a)gmail.com FOSDEM 2007 http://www.fosdem.org/2007/

Going to FOSDEM without bus/tram/metro
by Jan Claeys 07 Jan '07

07 Jan '07

About: <http://fosdem.org/2007/practical/transportation> Why not mention that people that come to Brussels by train can also take the train from 1 of the 3 main Brussels train stations to Ottignies & Louvain-la-Neuve and step off at the Etterbeek train station. From there it's only a 15 min walk to the FOSDEM location. And as Etterbeek is still inside the Brussels region, this is already included in your train ticket... :-) -- Jan Claeys
