Running a GSM BTS at fosdem ?
by Sylvain Munaut 12 Jan '11

12 Jan '11

Hi, Back in november/december, I made a request to the IBPT for a special temporary GSM licence. I was originally planning to use it in a talk on GSM but my proposal wasn't selected. Since the authorization has now been granted (and paid for), it'd be a waste not to use it The idea would just to have a single BTS running a small demo network with just A4 sheets around pointing to a website for more infos, no stand or anything. Can this be arranged on short notice ? Who should I talk to for details ? Cheers, Sylvain

Flukso slides
by Benjamin Henrion 25 Feb '10

25 Feb '10

Hi, Just to mention the Flukso slides are here: http://www.flukso.net/files/presentations/flukso.20100206.pdf Thanks to add a link somewhere on your website. Note that for next year, it would be great to have at least an email address like slides(a)fosdem.org where speakers can send their slides. Now I have the impression nobody is actually kicking the ass of all the speakers, especially outside the main tracks, to get a copy of their slides. Instead of explicitly seeking to sanction the patentability of software, they are now seeking to create a central European patent court, which would establish and enforce patentability rules in their favor, without any possibility of correction by competing courts or democratically elected legislators."

News : Video recordings online
by info＠fosdem.org 14 Feb '10

14 Feb '10

You might have noticed the videos of the Main Tracks [1] and Lightning Talks [2] are already online on our different mirrors. Round robin loadbalancing is performed using the following link: http://video.fosdem.org [3]. From now on we also publish the videos on YouTube. Google upgraded our account so we can now upload videos without time-limitation. This means you can watch any video streamed and in one single part. Our official channel page is: http://youtube.com/fosdemtalks [4]. We are trying to collect recordings of the many developer rooms. For more information, or to fill in the form check out: http://fosdem.org/2010/news/video-recordings-online [1] http://fosdem.org/2010/schedule/main-tracks [2] http://fosdem.org/2010/schedule/tracks/lightningtalks [3] http://video.fosdem.org [4] http://youtube.com/fosdemtalks

Hi, I was wondering if someone was collecting the slides of each room?
