Talk at FOSDEM on Nagios Plugins
by Ton Voon 09 Dec '06

09 Dec '06

Hi! I'd like to volunteer to do a talk at FOSDEM please. I work on the Nagios Plugins (http://nagiosplug.sf.net) and would like to do a talk about writing plugins for Nagios, using the Nagios::Plugin perl module from CPAN. I'll do a demo of how to create the plugin, using other CPAN modules, and query an online service to return data for Nagios to process. Would you be interested in this? Hello, I posted an inquiry to info(a)fosdem.org but got no answer yet. 2 years ago there was a perl dev-room at fosdem. It had some good succes. As we did miss it last year, we'd like to have a dev-room this time. Could this be considered ? Don't hesitate to mail me for any info. Thanks in advance -- Erik Colson

FOSDEM is mentioned on Open Source Intelligence website. Robert Steele says {referring to FOSDEM} "See the link dated today for information about their important conference coming up in February." Robert Steele has been a long time advocate of Open Source Software as well as Open Source Intelligence. He is a regular speaker at Hacker's on Planet Earth. http://www.oss.net/extra/news/?module_instance=1&id=2322 For those unfamiliar with Open Source Intelligence, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source_intelligence If you google Robert Steele and Hackers you get more of his ideas. Regards, Paul "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." -- Robert A. Heinlein ____________________________________________________________________________________ Cheap talk? Check out Yahoo! Just a short mail to inform you that we performed some changes to the spamfilter. During approx one hour the spamfilter was unfortunately unavailable and thus lots of spams entered the mailinglists. Please forgive us for this little mistake. Greets -- Christophe Vandeplas cvandeplas(a)fosdem.org http://www.fosdem.org
