Apart from having many invited speakers, the conference offers developer rooms, stands and lightning talks to projects from the Free and Open source community. This results in a staggering number of 250+ lectures! We hereby invite ideas and proposals for main speakers, and proposals for developer rooms. I am sending this to the fosdem list,I hope you will share it. The freesb10 is modeled after fosdem and is meant to promote free software in the balkans.. see also my open letter to the free software communities http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Mdupont/OpenLetterToFreeSoftwareCommuniti… it is not possible for many of the people to travel to fosdem, so we have to bring the event to them! mike ------------- Hi, We are organzing a bus to go to Vlore for the freesb conference (http://flossal.org/freesb-2010-conference/) Register now for the Hackerbus from Berlin, Germany to Vlore for the FREESB10 free software conference on the beach! We are also working on a bus from Paris, France as well. you can register now online : http://tinyurl.com/HackerBusVlore2 or http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dHBhb2xhTnJZSnV6OHI4cXRySW1… or just send a mail to register(a)flossk.org Sept 11-12, Vlora, Albania. Estimated leaving time 9th of Sept. Estimate return time 15th. ca 170 € per person round trip total costs (if you camp), around 190€ for hotel. The bus has 48 seats and costs in total around 7500€. Plan is to camp at the former Naval Academy in vlore , the uni vlore has showers, toilettes and wlan there. You will need a tent. Hotels are also available, they cost around 20€ per night for a nice one. First come first serve, we will have to collect money in advance to pay for the bus. Also people are welcome to get on at any part of the trip, but we need to cover the total costs, so we could look for people to travel the first part of the trip to reduce costs. Uploading slides
by Benny Siegert 08 Mar '10

Hello all, there was some discussion on this list about archiving the slides for talks from FOSDEM 2010. I did a talk in the BSD developers' room; is there an address I can send my slides to so that they are added to the archives? Thanks in advance! Regards --Benny.

Flukso slides
by Benjamin Henrion 25 Feb '10

25 Feb '10

Hi, Just to mention the Flukso slides are here: http://www.flukso.net/files/presentations/flukso.20100206.pdf Thanks to add a link somewhere on your website. Note that for next year, it would be great to have at least an email address like slides(a)fosdem.org where speakers can send their slides. Now I have the impression nobody is actually kicking the ass of all the speakers, especially outside the main tracks, to get a copy of their slides. Best, -- Benjamin Henrion <bhenrion at ffii.org> FFII Brussels - +32-484-566109 - +32-2-4148403 "In July 2005, after several failed attempts to legalise software patents in Europe, the patent establishment changed its strategy. Instead of explicitly seeking to sanction the patentability of software, they are now seeking to create a central European patent court, which would establish and enforce patentability rules in their favor, without any possibility of correction by competing courts or democratically elected legislators."

News : Video recordings online
by info＠fosdem.org 14 Feb '10

14 Feb '10

You might have noticed the videos of the Main Tracks [1] and Lightning Talks [2] are already online on our different mirrors. Round robin loadbalancing is performed using the following link: http://video.fosdem.org [3]. From now on we also publish the videos on YouTube. Google upgraded our account so we can now upload videos without time-limitation. This means you can watch any video streamed and in one single part. Our official channel page is: http://youtube.com/fosdemtalks [4]. We are trying to collect recordings of the many developer rooms. For more information, or to fill in the form check out: http://fosdem.org/2010/news/video-recordings-online [1] http://fosdem.org/2010/schedule/main-tracks [2] http://fosdem.org/2010/schedule/tracks/lightningtalks [3] http://video.fosdem.org [4] http://youtube.com/fosdemtalks
