Keysigning: signing homework
by Niels Laukens 02 Feb '15

02 Feb '15

I think the keysigning went rather well. If you didn't catch the hashes as they flew past, you can verify them against the list of hashes on https://ksp.fosdem.org/files/. I've signed them as well. Please try to complete your signing homework before Sunday 7 June 2015. You may find "caff" a helpful tool. Note: don't sign keys whose owners you haven't actually met at the keysigning event yesterday. Thanks all for attending.

Hiring! top knotch linux/telecom expert!
by Pierre Eisenmann 01 Feb '15

01 Feb '15

21Net provides high speed internet access on high speed trains – quite an interesting telecom challenge. We are looking for linux-telecom experts to help develop the industry-leading solution! We develop a full end-to-end networking solution from the ground back-end servers to the wifi on train. Key to the system performance is a linux-based server on board of the train that aggregates links from several wireless modems and possibly satellite and transforms them into broadband wifi. Ideal profile has expertise in linux (user and kernel spaces), TCP/IP protocols and their latest variants, a deep taste for investigation, optimization, innovation and experience in development of telecom applications in a linux environment. The work atmosphere is start-up like with a small team of excellent engineers. 21Net is based in Belgium (between Brussels and Antwerp). Other work locations are possible, especially in France. Please contact us! Pierre Eisenmann, 21Net CTO.

three cars in a slot
by Geert Stappers 30 Jan '15

30 Jan '15

Hi, Slot is probably not the right word for it. The parking between Janson and building K has slots that are designed for three cars. Please make it possible to have 3 cars in each such slots. Don't be attempted to reduce the parking capacity with 33% Groeten Geert Stappers -- Leven en laten leven

Got dinner plans for Friday before FOSDEM?
by Karen Sandler 30 Jan '15

30 Jan '15

If you don't have plans already, come have dinner with me :) Conservancy is having an event/fundraiser that night. While we're hoping to raise money and attract more Supporters, we've kept the ticket price low so that it's open to more people. It's $40 in advance, €50 at the door. We also organized it just a short walk to the beer event at a place called Drug Opera (thanks Philip Paeps for the suggestion!). The full announcement is here: http://sfconservancy.org/news/2015/jan/20/supporter-night-2015/ But you can just go here to buy a ticket and get basic info: https://sfconservancy.org/supporter/event.html Hope to see you there! karen ps: we're starting early so that there's plenty of time to go to Delerium but also so we're all bright-eyed for my opening keynote on Saturday!

planning PDF for sunday shows "saturday"
by baud123＠tuxfamily.org 30 Jan '15

30 Jan '15

Hi, As usual I printed too many fosdem plannings... Then I realized why: the sunday one shows "saturday" at the bottom (after page 1-8). see https://tmp.fosdem.org/booklet-official/booklet_sun-print.pdf : saturday still appears at the bottom :/ Maybe there's still time to correct it for this friday before too many people print it :D If it had been available as ODT (and then exported as PDF) I could have provided a patch :p It's really a good work, took me only 15 min to print (I spent once ago more than 2 hours formatting this planning to take less than 10 pages...). I printed page 2-4 recto/verso so that I have a blank page I can write on (I know the plan of fosdem :D). Thanks for the new format in 4 pages recto-verso ! See you @++ Ben'. aka BAud

Keysigning: list of participants now available
by Niels Laukens 29 Jan '15

29 Jan '15

The list of participants for this weekend's keysigning event is now available. If you're taking part in the keysigning event, you should now: o Download the list: http://ksp.fosdem.org/files/keylist.html o Optionally, if there's a trust path between your PGP key and mine, verify the integrity of the file using the detached signature: http://ksp.fosdem.org/files/keylist.html.sig e.g. using: % gpg --verify keylist.html.sig keylist.html o Verify that your fingerprint as shown on the list is correct. o Print this list of keys with fingerprints on paper. You can use your favourite browser and it will do its best to keep the key blocks together on the same page. People that are allergic to HTML can still print this file as plain text, with minor inconveniences such as escape sequences. o Calculate the checksums of the file holding the list of keys. e.g. using: % gpg --print-md RIPEMD160 keylist.html % gpg --print-md SHA256 keylist.html o Write the checksums you calculated in the designated blanks. o Don't lose the list, and bring it with you on Sunday. You can NOT print the list at the infodesk! Also bring along a pen and appropriate means of identification. See you Sunday!
